is the difference between the single-user and multi-user versions of the
program?
KidsONE is available as an MS-DOS program or as a Microsoft
Windows program. The MS-DOS version of the program is designed to run on
older machines that use MS-DOS or Windows 3.x. The Windows version is a 32 bit
Windows program is designed to run on computers using Microsoft Windows 95 or
later. The Windows program is available in single-user and multi-user
versions. The single-user version can be used on more than one computer but
only one person at a time can use the program. The multi-user version allows
any number of users to simultaneously use the program. To utilize the
multi-user capabilities of the program, your computers need to be linked
together in a local area network (Windows Networking or Novell Netware).
I
am getting an error message indicating that "a record lock bit" is
set. How can I get rid of this?
Go to the KidsONE utilities menu (Start->Programs->KidsONE).
Select "Clear Record Lock Bit".
When
I start the KidsONE program, I get a message stating that a "required .dll
is not found". What should I do?
On certain early versions of Windows 95 a system file that
is required to run KidsONE is not included. This file is called "msvcirt.dll"
and is located in the "Fonts" sub-folder in the "KidsONE"
folder. You will need to copy this file into the "KidsONE"
folder. Typically you would copy the file named msvcirt.dll from the
"\Program Files\ONE Software\KidsONE\Fonts" folder to the
"\Program Files\ONE Software\KidsONE" folder. KidsONE should
then start normally.
